Hey guys! Its been about a month and I thought I'd give you guys an update on things. I ended up going with a used Sony Alpha 300 that came with the basic 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens costing about $225.00 (165 Euros-ish) just to learn technique and what not. Results are not bad and images come out pretty decent. Speaking of such, I also thought I'd share some images that were captured in Charlotte,NC, the nearest major city about 20 minutes away from where I live. Feel free to critique to your heart's desire, good, bad, and constructive feedback are all accepted.

Like a few of you have suggested, the "nifty fifty" equivalent for this camera seems quite enticing. Any others that you guys would like to suggests are welcome to comment. Quick note, this camera interestingly accepts mounts from Konica Minolta (listed under Maxxum, Dynax, and Alpha in NA, Europe, and Asia respectively) which can land quite the bargain.
