check this out:

Artificial light from you computer screen may be causing sleep problems for you.

This small piece of software is free and basically runs in your taskbar and changes the color temperture of your screen based on your time.

Making it easier on your eyes. Takes like 2 days to get used to it.

I'd recommend it for others. Personally I am using Photoshop or Illustrator too often and I cannot have the colours changing like that.

i use lightroom a lot. there is a thing that you click to disable it for an hour for color sensitive work.

i rather just end the process in task manager if i plan on playing w/ PS or lightroom for a given day

What if you sleep during the day and are awake at night? Does the program have some type of customization?

you could manually adjust the color temperature for day and night and flip them.

but that would not achieve anything. this is not to make you want to sleep. the way it works is that

it matches your monitors color temperature to your environments color temperature (which changes throughout the day).

this way your eyes are not strained from being inside a given color temperature and looking at a completely different one.

Yes, an hour is not enough. I do work over that time almost every evening. I just turn my computer off one hour before I go to sleep, and read a book.
